3D Technical Artist
We are seeking a well-rounded, technical-minded artist with a full arsenal of 3d and 2d skills. The ideal candidate will have Unity engine experience, including asset creation, integration into the engine, and scripting of shaders and effects. This position will demand a balance of technical and artistic skills.
Key Accountabilities:
- Work with team to define Unity Engine requirements & constraints
- Reduce the technical demands on other creative team members
- Assist in getting 2d and 3d assets functioning in the Game Engine
- Debug problematic artwork and offer solutions in a timely manner
- Perform minor MELscripting in Maya to generate needed tools for artists
- Perform scripting tasks in Unity, including but not limited to shader creation and manipulation
- Help automate repetitive art tasks within Maya & Unity
- Assist in 2d/3d asset creation, including but not limited to:
- 3d environment models
- 3d prop objects
- 3d character models
- 3d rigging of character models
- 2d animation
- 2d animated sprites
- 2d storyboard art
- 2d textures: diffuse, bump, specular, transparency and light maps
- 2d interface artwork
- 2d illustration
Requirements:
- BFA/BS in Computer Art, Animation, or related major
- At least 2 shipped game titles as a technical artist, mobile platforms preferred
- Deep knowledge of Maya including MEL scripting
- Deep knowledge of Unity Engine including shader scripting
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Must thrive in a team environment
- Must have excellent verbal & written communication skills
- A passion for making fun, unique, and visually appealing games

- Online is preferred, but DVD/CDs are acceptable.
Candidates must clearly document their specific contribution to any and all group efforts.
